Scrap Studio is situated within the old industrial centre of Sheffield, based within the Portland Works on Randall Street.
Bob "Stunt Man" Smith and Dan "Munkee" Wilde are a couple of old
friends with an interest in music, and enough spare time to devote
to something we love. So we made Scrap Studio!
Occupying 300 square foot of space we utilise it as best we can,
with a dedicated recording booth in the corner, and an open plan
recording area. As part of our overall specification we are
building to partition off areas of our live room for 2 guitar
amplifiers and a drum kit, for dampened live recordings.
Anybody who knows Sheffield also knows the diverse and varied
culture situated between Bramall Lane and Sharrow, where a hugely
diverse mix of musicians record, rehearse and party. We're also
just East of London Road, home of some of the best Thai restaurants
in Sheffield and the Cremorne pub.
Bob Smith has been an acting Sound Technician for the past 8 years.
During that time he's worked as a freelance live sound engineer,
in-house college media and music technician and local crew for the
Usual Suspects. He has travelled to Germany and the Netherlands
working as technician during Conferences.
As a working musician he's had a role in bands whilst also working
on his own music
