About Portland Works
Portland Works is cooperative of traditional and modern craftspeople located within one of the UK’s most important historical industrial buildings. The building was purchased in 2013 by more than 500 community shareholders who are undertaking long-term programme of renovation.
The grade 2* listed building has around 30 small businesses located within its 2600 square metre floor space. The project is entirely volunteer led and run, apart from one paid employee, the site manager.
About the Position
We are seeking an Outreach and Education Officer, working part-time for a fixed period, to create new opportunities for greater involvement with the public. We’d like to reach out to new people and organisations, creating more ways for them to learn about Portland Works and its place in our city’s heritage.
The post is part-time (0.4 FTE) and is to be worked flexibly for a term of 18 months. Salary, dependent on experience, will be around £22,000 (paid pro rata).
The closing date for applications is 5 January 2018. Interviews will take place in the week beginning 15 January.
