Online Heritage Lecture: “Artistry in Stone, Bronze and Wood – Frank Tory & Sons, Sheffield Architectural Sculptors”

21 October @ 19:00 - 20:30

£4

Between 1880 and 1940, Frank Tory and his twin sons provided the decorative carvings for many buildings in Sheffield and further afield, from some of the City’s surviving Victorian commercial offices to churches like St Matthew’s in Carver Street and public buildings like the Central Library and the City Hall. They were also commissioned to produce memorial tablets and stand-alone pieces of sculpture. This lavishly illustrated talk provides an interesting insight into the lasting impact these sculptors have had on the City’s built heritage.

This will be a live online event using the Zoom app and there will be an opportunity to ask questions via the chat.
