About the Lecture

Nomad is a Sheffield charity that exists to provide affordable housing to help people transition out of homelessness quickly and positively. They support people to develop the skills and resilience to help them avoid homelessness in the future. They are proud to work across the whole Sheffield community supporting all those in need. Find out more about the work of this charity at our event.

We are not able to offer our usual afternoon tea as this is an online event. However, if you would like to purchase an afternoon tea to eat at home during this event, please contact P.J Taste who are happy to deliver one to your door [Sheffield customers only]. Please select from their delicious menu here.

About our speaker:

Our guest speaker for this Heritage Lecture will be Laura Baker, Fundraiser and Communications Coordinator at the Nomad offices based on John Street Sheffield, just round the corner from Portland Works.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions via “chat” as the event is live. In addition, we will be offering the opportunity to stay on and chat with others following the event in a Zoom breakout room. Please indicate if you would like to join in when booking by emailing outreach@portlandworks.co.uk

Tickets are £10 – a portion of the ticket price will be donated to Nomad.

This event is held in the spirit of the words of Jo Cox in her first speech to parliament, 3 June 2015 “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us”.
