Our Supporters

As a community project, Portland Works only exists today thanks to the tireless generosity of our supporters. While we are working to become a truly self sufficient, modern industrial organisation, there is still a great deal of work to do. We continue to rely upon and give thanks to a huge list of people and organisations to whom we are indebted for their support.

The first group are very much the front line of our support: the volunteers who’ve given hundreds of hours of their own time to rebuilding Portland Works, and the more than 500 shareholders who’ve supported us financially.

Please learn more about about getting directly involved on the Volunteering and Shareholders pages.

Donors and Grant Organisations

From 2011, Portland Works has been fortunate enough to attract significant grant funding form some of the most engaged and forward-thinking organisations in the world. These grants allowed us to purchase the building, get our business onto its feet and move forward towards our goal of self sufficiency. In addition, there are a number of individuals too modest to be named, who have donated around £5000 over the campaigning phase, and continue to support us.

We still have a way to go yet but the continued funding, support and guidance that these organisations provide is absolutely critical to the success of today’s Portland Works. Click the logos below to learn more about each organisation.

Having worked with these companies, we are delighted to recommend them as great examples of businesses that share our commitment to craftsmanship, personal service and upholding the heritage of our city.
