BBC Radio Sheffield Broadcasts from Portland Works

On Sunday 17 February, the popular Rob Rouse show was broadcast on BBC Radio Sheffield and was recorded entirely on-site at Portland Works. The two-hour show featured a brief history of the works followed by interviews with a number of our makers including Bailey of Sheffield, Locksley Distilling, PML Silver Plating, Michael May Knives and Tietzsch Guitars.

Rob also interviewed Portland Works’ education and outreach officer, Stella Howe, who talked about tenancy and the Makerspace, and former board chair, Derek Morton, who discussed the original “save the works” campaign and other volunteering opportunities.

The Rob Rouse show from Portland Works is available to listen to online via the BBC Sounds app and website.
