Museums Sheffield recently announced the following event from the creator of our commemorative Portland Works painting, Joe Scarborough. We still have a few of these prints remaining and you can order here.
The announcement follows:
A brand-new exhibition celebrating Joe Scarborough, one of Sheffield’s best-loved artists, is opening at Weston Park Museum this August. Life in the Big Village will draw together over 60 of his paintings and drawings for the first major retrospective of his work in over 25 years.
Scarborough has documented Sheffield’s history in glorious technicolour in a career spanning over 50 years, and his affectionate, often humorous, depictions of everyday scenes of Yorkshire life pay tribute to the region and the spirit of its people.
