Nick Duggan from The Hawley Collection at Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield presents an illustrated talk about this collection of 2,500 table knives by over 1,200 different Sheffield cutlery companies over the past 200 years and the success of the online digital archive which has now been visited over a 100,000 times by 85,000 different users. Nick will also give us a brief history of the table knife and how Sheffield came to dominate the world with this modest household item.
